Know How Much Fuel You Need to Order
It’s easy to figure out how much oil you currently have and, from that point, how much you should order to fill your fuel tank. Wherever it’s located—indoors or outdoors—look on top of your heating oil tank to locate the gauge, similar to the one shown here. It will display approximately how much fuel is in the tank, noted in fractions. Use the chart below to determine how much oil you need to order to fill your tank.

ORDER FUELOrdering Tips
- Set a weekly reminder to check your tank’s fuel gauge and place an order if necessary. Order as soon as possible if your tank is at 1/4 capacity.
- Be sure our drivers and technicians can safely access your property and tank. Shovel a path to your fill pipe if it snows, unlock any access gates, and plow your driveway. Please also secure any pets who spend time outside.
- Provide contact information for a responsible person or company if you’ll be away from your home during the winter.
